Keep calm and carry on.

Okay, today I told you guys something quite big. You took it marvellously. I'm so proud of you guys in a mother dinosaur kinda of way, you're simply the best. You reacted so calmly (some of you so calmly you didnt even react (Baldwin!)) and thought about it and listened, thank you. Seriously, cheers mates.

I'd just like to stress the fact that there is absolutly nothing to worry about right now, or the next couple of decades (fingers crossed and super glued).

I'm not going to be on facebook or msn etc just so it gives you a chance to think things through and think about any questions you wanna ask, I'll do my best.

I didn't tell you sooner because it was slap bang right in the middle of our exams and I didn't want to distracted you from that all important revision. We all had enough to think about at the time I'm sure you'll agree :). I totally understand if your angry and hurt but there was no emergency and I couldn't give you the facts and answers like I can now; your imaginations would exaggerate and run wild, couldn't be having that now, could we? Well, my mobile is switched on and the home phone is right beside me if you have any questions or want to yell at me (can't blame you). So yeah, I'm here all evening, tomorrow, sunday, the day after that, and after that, the one that follows that, and then the one 6th dayafter that and...you get the picture. I'm giving you a little space basically.

Sweet dreams, I'll see you very soon, always here,

God and the cowboy.

A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. 'Have you ever done anything of particular merit?' St. Peter asked.

'Well, I can think of one thing,' the cowboy offered.

'On a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota , I came upon a gang of bikers, who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face ... Kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, 'Now, back off or I'll kick the shi't out of all of you!'

St. Peter was impressed, 'When did this happen?'

'Couple of minutes ago.'

The Train Ticket and Evolution.

Three women and three men are travelling by train to the football game..
At the station, the three men each buy a ticket and watch

as the three women buy just one ticket.
'How are the three of you going to travel on only one
ticket?' asks one of the men.
'Watch and learn,' answers one of the women.

They all board the train. The three men take their
respective seats but all three women cram into a toilet
together and close the door.

Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes
around collecting tickets. He knocks on the toilet door
and says, 'Ticket, please.'
The door opens just a crack, and a single arm emerges with
a ticket in hand.

The conductor takes it and moves on.

The men see this happen and agree it was quite a clever
idea so after the game, they decide to do the same
thing on the return trip and save some money.

When they get to the station they buy a single ticket for
the return trip but see, to their astonishment, that the
three women don't buy any ticket at all!!

'How are you going to travel without a ticket?' asks one
perplexed man.

'Watch and learn,' answer the women.

When they board the train, the three men cram themselves
into a toilet, and the three women cram into a toilet
just down the way.

Shortly after the train is on its way, one of the women
leaves her toilet and walks over to the toilet in which
the men are hiding. She knocks on their door and says,
'Ticket please.'

I'm still trying to figure out why men think they are
smarter than women.

6 Reasons Not to Mess with Children.

(1)
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.

The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven, I will ask Jonah.'

The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'

The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him.'

(2)

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing.

She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.

As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'

The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

(3)

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.

After explaining the commandment to 'honour' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'

Without missing a beat one little boy, the oldest of a family, answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

(4)

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.

'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor'.'

A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'

(5)

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.'

'Yes,' the class said.

'Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position, the blood doesn't run into my feet?'

A little fellow shouted,

'Cause your feet ain't empty.'

(6)

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

'Take only ONE. God is watching'

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

Ladies and Gentleman, sorry about the poor quality of the show. Please, make an orderly line next to the ticket booths where we will refund your tickets.

This blog doesnt really have a purpose in all honesty. I'm not sure where to begin, on what note to end on and what topic to focus it on; so like life, I guess I'm winging it.

I keep having dreams, weird ones, sad ones and angry ones. My day dreams fall under the same catagories too, is that weird? I s'pose it is. One that comes regulary is me getting cancer. Just so you know, I'm not afraid of death or dying slowly. I often dream about it in a way that looks forward to 'The End', not in some sadistic or maschistic way, but as a new beginning-a kind of start, maybe even like a new book inside a multivolume thing like you get with the Jane Austen collections, with all the stories in one book? But anyway, I move to America (it pops up frequently for some reason) basically so that my family and friends dont have to see the woman I once was deteriorate and wither away into some kind of ghost. I dont want to cause sadness, I dont want to hurt them. But I'm a coward in the truth. I have so many real-life phobias that it is actually funny; monkeys, needles, organs in biology, sharks biting my leg off whilst im in the bath- everyday things y'know? But the mother of all of them? The queen bee? Saying Goodbye. -Shudders quite literally- Thats the part of the dreams that make me cry. The rest of it is just fate, destiny, the way its happened to me and thats okay. Saying the 'G' word, punishment for all past present and future sins. I think its fascintaing (she says while she stirs her latte in her SBs mug) why a person should have such an aversion to something so simple. To many people it gives closure, makes them feel like its okay to move on, I do too, don't get me wrong. Its perfect for the death bed scene when you're surrounded by your children, family and friends. the smell of roses bought from the corner shop just down the road faintly present in the room while you rub soothing circles onto your partner or childs hand. Then its perfect. Just like the termination of a relationship. thats good then too, as long as you're the one saying it. But anyway. The dreams. Im always haggard, trying to hide it with a bandana or head scarf, penciled in eyebrows, rouged lips and eyeliner. I'm going for the chic french look my aunt did so well when she was ill. I'm a hair dresser too, so this is how it typically goes.
chatting happily with a customer-someone i know walks in, usually a man. He starts flirting, im glad for the attention, he later asks for a favour -to kiss him- i say yeah, slightly confsued as to why he'd want to kiss my ugly mug. he thanks me. ''great, thank you, now i know what its like to kiss death.'' it feels like ive just been slapped round the face. it hurts. everywhere. all the the infected parts of my cancer riddled body start to psuh and kick against my skin, screaming. my skin crawl when i look at my reflection. shock on my face. everyone in the room diverts their eyes and carries on. Im stood there; alone. shamed. naked. bleeding and convulsing. i then go up to the guy and start attacking him. i grab his hair from behind and using the leverage, slam his face into the wall. kick him, punch him, step on him. hes not breathing and everyone stays focused on ignoring what ive just done. invisible. its black, like ive just stopped existing- erased.
It ends there. i dont quite understand whats going on with it. im not exactly a violent person. im healthy, tests have proved this. why would i beat up someone? sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me? Is this a sign of things to come because if so, i seriously hope not.

this was slightly darker then my other posts, sorry.

but really,

what the hell?

Surround yourself.

Wait until nobody can hear or see you until you watch this. Sorry the video and link aren't working.

Let it wash over you. Let the current twist and bend you. Let the beat control your heart. Let the vibrations echo around you. Close your eyes. Welcome the numbing alertness that will greet you on the other side. Tap your feet. Allow your fingers to dance in a new way. Hear with both ears. Feel with every nerve. Breathe it in.

The News. Stay classy blogees.

The thing wrong with this pledge is I don't trust the party making it. Otherwise it sounds pretty good.

The idea is to create an Ombudsperson who will make sure those big, horrible supermarkets don't use their power to abuse poor farmers.

Would be even better if this regulator person could make sure big, horrible supermarkets don't abuse any supplier. Especially a well-known supplier of bread (not that I'm bitter about that, honest. Come on, it's been over a year)

Moving along, but staying close to politics. Is it amusing that Labour and the Tories are desperately trying to be like the Lib Dems? Cleggy must be feeling like the popular kid in school, with all these outcasts trying to be his friends. Naturally, like all popular kids, Cleggy is telling them that the differences outweigh the similarities. Before shouting "Looo-ser" and making that L-sign.

Would this mean that the Lib Dems are the most powerful party in the UK, at the moment?

Answers on a postcard (to give the Postal Workers something nice to deliver)

Song to poem. Minerva by Deftones.

I get all...numb
When you sings it's over
Such a strange numb
And it brings my knees to the earth

And God bless you all
For the song you sang, saved us
You're the same...numb
Your song, it could bring back peace to the earth

So God bless you all
For the song you sang, saved us
For the hearts you break, everytime you moan...

I get all...numb
We're the same numb
And it brings our knees to the earth

So God bless you all
For the song you sang, saved us
For the hearts you break, everytime you moan
And God bless you all on the earth...

The Irish.

Irish logic is oen of thsoe things that just has me rolling around on the floor in fits laughter (or should i say larftar?) so i though i'd share soem classic oneliners and irish logic with you. sorry if it causes offence. enjoy :)

Three macho mice are sitting at a bar discussing just how tough they were. The first mouse slams a shot and says: "I play with mouse traps for fun. I'll run into one on purpose and as it is closing on me, I grab the bar and bench press it 20 to 30 times." And, with that, he slams another shot.
The second mouse slams a shot and says: "That's nothing. I take those poison bait tablets, cut them up, and snort them, just for the fun of it." And, with that, he slams another shot.
The third mouse slams a shot, gets up, and turns to walk away.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" ask his friends.

The third mouse stops and replies: "I'm going home to shag the cat."

A kid comes home from school with a writing assignment. He asks his father for help. "Dad, can you tell me the difference between potential and reality?"
His father looks up, thoughtfully, and then says, "I'll demonstrate. Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Robert Redford for a million pounds. Then go ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million pounds. Then come back and tell me what you've learned."
The kid is puzzled, but decides to ask his mother. "Mum, if someone gave you a million pounds, would you sleep with Robert Redford?"
"Don't tell your father, but yes, I would," she replies.
He then goes to his sister's room. "Sis, if someone gave you a million pounds, would you sleep with Brad Pitt?"
She replies, "Omigod! Definitely!"
The kid goes back to his father. "Dad, I think I've figured it out. Potentially, we are sitting on two million quid, but in reality, we are living with two sluts."

A young couple on their wedding night were in their honeymoon suite.
As they were undressing for bed, the husband, a big burly man, tossed his trousers to his new bride and said: "Here, put these on."
She put them on and the waist was twice the size of her body.
"I can't wear your trousers," she said.
"That's right,'' said the husband, "and don't you ever forget it. I'm the one who wears the trousers in this relationship."
With that she flipped him her knickers and said: "Try these on."
He tried them on and found he could only get them on as far as his kneecaps.
"Hell," he said. ''I can't get into your knickers!"
She replied: "That's right... and that's the way it is going to stay until your attitude changes."

Word to the wise: never get in line at the bank behind someone wearing a balaclava.

Brains
An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were reading a newspaper article about which nationalities' brains were for sale for transplant purposes. An Irishman's or a Scotsman's brain could be bought for £500 but an Englishman's brain cost £10,000. That proves,' said The Englishman, 'that Englishmen are much cleverer than Irishmen or Scotsmen.'
'No it doesn't,' said The Irishman, 'it just means that an Englishman's brain has never been used.'

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were all in jail and The ruler of The country was visiting The prison.
I'm innocent, I'm innocent,' screamed The Englishman. 'Get me out of here at once.'
I'm innocent too,' screamed The Scotsman. 'Get me out of here before I go mad.'
'How about you?' The ruler asked The Irishman.
'I'm as guilty as hell,' said The Irishman. 'I'm entitled to be here.'
'Get this guilty man out of here at once,' said The ruler, 'before he contaminates these innocent men.'

Musical Vibes of The Noughties

I've been ordered into making a list of my favourite songs my one of my besties who I coincidentally met in The Noughties. Umm, I'm not going to put them in order due to the fact that they are all individual and you cant put them into categories for such a large range of criteria that is taken into account. Do you mind? If you do, tough titties, that's the way it is.

~Kings and Queens - 30 Seconds To Mars - 2009
the video is SO amazing, YouTube it! It features a fire-breathing clown and an army of gas mask-wearing bicycle messengers patrolling the streets of L.A (which they closed down specifically for the video! lots of planning and preparation i think you'll agree. The message i got from it first time was how music can be the great uniter bringing all manner of people together on the journey of life (corny isn't it?) The bicycles are used to promote the environmental issues our world faces today and how simple transport could be in the future if we all helped in our own way. this was represented through costumes and various bikes, for example Penny Farthings and stunt bikes to reach out to all age groups. "The Horse" — the name of the bit that shows a majestic white stallion galloping in slow motion down a deserted city street. It's a startling, eye-popping image, one only amplified by the soundtrack: a chorus of young voices, chanting in unison that was recorded around the world and woven together to form a united force. Listening to the voice full volume with my eyes shut and everything quiet around me to concentrate my senses on the music was an otherworldly experience that brought goosebumps to my arms and caused my temples to tingle. A masterpiece or musical art that speaks.

~Sleep Walking - Joe Brooks - 2008
I stumbled across this young man on My space a couple of months ago and simply fell for him. Looks, talent to the extreme and a love for all things retro and vintage, it was like it was meant to be. Its an acoustic song, as is the album, written when he was 16 about a relationship that he's trying to salvage. Its a feel good song though, not too mushy and not to much of a muchness if you know what I mean as acoustic songs can be. Its all about looking to the future and saying 'look, just do it. Make all your dreams come true, I'll help you out if you'll let me.' A great song to wind down to. Here's the link to his page; http://www.myspace.com/joebrooksmusic

~Numb - Linkin Park - 2003
Once again a fantastic song to play at top volume(even better in the car wash for some reason, but I wont go into that phenomenon just yet, that's for another blog)I like the lyrics and how they go together with the music. Its sad and angry at the same time they put there words out there. They say what they want to say. There's no need to study the words to get their meaning. I am a big fan of Linkin Park and Numb is the best song they have done so far. It has such an energy to it, some kind of force? It just lets you get it all out of your system without totally losing it yourself, the music just releases you in a way.

~Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield - 2005
Just a feel good song basically, looking to the future is something everyone our my age group is doing at the moment. Every ones to tense at the moment its a great song to sing into your hairbrush and unwind to. One of those songs that makes you forget what the weathers like (bloody snow) or whats going on at school (bloody teachers) at transports you to the good times, to the summer, to the warmth of your friends and of the sun. Wait, why don't you just see previous blog for more details?

~Right Where It Belongs - Nine Inch Nails - 2005 (seems to be a good year)
This song is absolutely glorious. Deep and personal, and left up to the listener on what the interpretation is. This song, to me, is like reflecting on yourself. As in "If you look at your reflection, is it all you want it to be?"
Well is it? And the line "Keep on looking but you can't find the words, are you hiding in retreat?" really hits me. When you have so many things you want to say, but you can't. Trent is more focused on trying to get people to open their minds to thinking in different ways than just the normal way most people think. I think his mission is to get people to think more philosophically so that they CAN find the answers they need. He wants to show people the questions that lie out there...not solve all of the problems for them. It's about getting people to really live their lives, and think about things instead of just accepting life the way our society tells us it is. It's not about trying to solve people's problems or giving out all the answers. Trent knows that part of life is searching for your answers. He's just helping to bring the questions out of all the mess.
Every time I listen to this song, going back to the point where he sings "You keep looking but you can't find the words, Are you hiding in retreat?" It also sounds like he's saying "You keep looking but you can't find the woods are you hiding in the trees? Is it just me? Its so clever the way he's done that; to stop and make you think about it. Beautiful song, a masterpiece.

~Moonlight - Yiruma - unknown
Just listen to it. Let it guide you. Let it send you off to sleep. Follow the journey. An outstanding piece of music that everyone has the potential to appreciate at some point in their lives.

~Fireflies - Owl City - 2009
This song makes me feel like a small child again; filled with wonder and hope and plain joy.it is rare that music is this purely happy and good t makes me feel like everything is going to be okay. I have a few theories about this one, bear with me:) I think this song is about the growing up and letting go of childhood, while still embracing our dreams and acting upon a few of them ("I saved a few and kept them in a jar"), with the fireflies representing those dreams. Maybe he's saying that all those moments of childhood like all the firefly references were his escape, and he wishes he could go back to those days? Another possibility is that this may also have a sadder mood to it. like how he keeps saying "please take me away from here"and also "Its hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep Cause everything is never as it seems" to me, when it is said and seen in this light to me he is kinda saying something is going wrong for him, and he cant sleep because he is so tired of it, but he would rather be asleep when he is awake. So many theories but truly an epic gentle song.

~Tumble Down - Marcus Foster - 2009
And tonight, it’s an intimate experience. Just me and Marcus’s songs as I wander this night alone. Listening to “Tumble Down,” I walk with him through the “pointless danger and twisted sorrow” and I see it all “tumble down” through his eyes…his heart. It’s intimate. Just me and him. Marcus’s lyrics are smoky, steamy, earthy, and shiveringly romantic. His voice is gorgeous – a little raspy, husky, but melodic with a lilting falsetto and full – full of that something else that you can’t define. You just want to run in the rain and feel the drops fall sweet and wet on your face…you want to drive forever under the moon and watch the world unfurl before you. You want to cradle in the silver arms of the moon with stars drifting by…You want to be everything you ever wanted to be. This is what it’s like to listen to Marcus Foster’s music. Especially on a Friday night ...alone. Seeing a seemingly beautiful city the way it really is, all the problems to be faced, all the wrong decisions made and how eerie the past can be of those around you and yourself.

~Vermillion Pt2 - Slipknot - 2008
This song is amazing. It is one of those songs where the meaning can be changed to suit many feelings and situations so as to give people a sense of understanding. But a meaning i found in these lyrics is actually that Corey is talking about a complete fantasy. He is singing about a girl that is make believe, the "perfect" girl. She isn't real and her can't make her real so it torments him and it makes him sad that he can't find this girl. But he won't sit by and let his torment build up and he realises that he will have to make do with the, so to speak, imperfect girl. And in that sense i find it relates to me alot. An absolutely amazing song. Something that you would not expect from Slipknot, but still - incredible... its a good sad I feel when listening. Its heart felt and true, and I really do enjoy that. It also fits well with part one, if you have the right thoughts.

~Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking - Snow Patrol - 2008
The song is rather abstract, but I think he's marveling at how so many different things are happening at once. Somewhere someone is dying, somewhere a war is being fought, the world is playing out its drama. In the meantime time is very constant, "safe and sound," and nobody can mess with time. The song and the title has a similar feel to Coldplay's "Clocks," it has a chilly, zoned-out feel and I the title might be Lightbody's way of paying tribute to that band.
I like the "death" theory too at a stretch, all of the pairs of lines can be interpreted as a death of some sort, and the musical style seems to match it. the loud bits seem to exemplify the unexpectedness of death. I like it. i hope you do too.

Well well my friends, i would have dearly loved to have done more i really would have but time is of the essence and i have some biology revision. i hope I've opened your eyes to new sounds and different lights and philosophies, all the best in the future m'lovelies.

have a great snow day
